Watch this amazing compilation of fan reactions to the AFC Championship game (VIDEO)
There has been a trend sweeping YouTube in recent years of fans recording themselves watching live sporting events unfold, and then uploading their reactions for all the world to see. This has provided us with all kinds of tremendous sporting moments caught on camera from the fan’s point of view, like this remarkable compilation of fans watching Landon Donovan’s game-winning goal in the 2010 World Cup.
And as you might guess, last week’s AFC Championship game between the Patriots and the Ravens provided all kinds of fodder for superfans everywhere to freak the eff out, with their cameras rolling. Between both Lee Evans’ near-game-winning-TD that wasn’t and Billy Cundiff’s field goal shank that lost it for Baltimore, the final few minutes were an emotional roller coaster for fans of both teams.
So that’s what makes this compilation of fan reactions to the game (aptly titled “The Agony of Defeat and Thrill of Victory“) – which features both ebullient celebrations and soul-crushing collapses from Pats and Ravens fans alike – just so fantastic. You really get to feel the win/loss from both perspectives, and get a sense of just how much this game means to people everywhere. And of course it includes this guy.

Watch this fantastic Giants 2011-12 season highlights package (VIDEO)
There are thousands of fan-made highlights packages to be found on YouTube, but this one of the New York Football Giants 2011-12 regular season stands out from the pack for its incredible editing, high quality footage, and of course, the tasteful use of ”Run This Town” by Jay-Z (feat. Rihanna) as the backing music.
And even though the Giants barely squeaked into the playoffs as a Wild Card after finishing 9-7, with guys like Eli, Cruuuuuuz, and JPP having breakout seasons, there were still plenty of explosive and memorable plays from this year’s campaign … even before they were able to put it all together just in time for a stunning playoff run.
So if you’re a Giants fan looking for something to keep you fired up during the off-week before Super Bowl XLVI, you’ve come to the right place.

This fan’s choice of nail polish is why the Packers lost (VIDEO)
You know those crazy-superstitious sports fans who insist that their gameday routine and attire somehow impacts the success or failure of their favorite team? Well, sometimes they’re right.
Poor Casey here – a die-hard Packers fan – apparently let her “friend” Megan convince her to apply sparkles to her nails and don a Clay Matthews jersey on Sunday instead of her normally-preferred Aaron Rodgers gear to the sports bar. And inevitably, Green Bay lost.
Here is Casey’s reaction to this chain of events::
UPDATE: Even Clay Matthews agrees: it’s all Megan’s fault
This 6-year-old Jets fan knows more about football than you (VIDEO)
At first, the idea of watching a 6-year-old kid cry over his favorite football team’s misfortunes just seems cruel … and then you realize that you’re dealing with a wunderkind who has every team in the NFL’s schedule memorized, and understands the subtle nuances of the AFC playoff race in Week 11.
Then, you just sit there and marvel at the sheer breadth of this kid’s knowledge (even in the midst of a full-on meltdown), while mom tries to help him come to terms with the years of inevitable pain & suffering that lay ahead for this young Jets fan.
That’s just good parenting, right there.
Watch this Giants-49ers Monday Night Football Game from 1990 … in it’s entirety
In preparation for tomorrow’s game featuring the same two teams, and just because it’s awesome, we bring you this classic 1990 defensive struggle between the 10-1 New York Giants and 10-1 San Francisco 49ers.
In it, we get a brilliant MNF broadcast with Michaels, Gifford and Dierdorf, featuring (among other greats) Joe Montana, Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Rice, Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick. And although the game didn’t see a lot of touchdowns, you’re watching one of the great offenses of its time squaring off against one of the best defenses in what would be a preview of that year’s NFC Championship game. It just works on so many levels.
So settle in and enjoy the full game … via YouTube user DaveMeggett, in all 13 glorious parts:

Really really excitable fan calls out Jerry Jones and Cowboys (VIDEO)
Since our resident Cowboys fan, C-O-U-R-T-N-E-Y, has remained silent about the outlook for his favorite team, this guy will have to suffice as our “expert” opinion on the subject for now.
In response to the Cowboys meltdown at the Jets in Week 1, YouTube user divalover159 delivers a tirade for the ages on his favorite franchise, owner Jerry Jones, and QB/whipping boy Tony Romo. It’s nearly ten minutes of pure, unadulterated passion, bouncing bellies and questionable grammar, the likes of which we haven’t seen since Matt Foley, motivational speaker.
Sure, it goes on a bit long, but something about this video is truly captivating …

Jets fan arrested for chanting “JETS JETS JETS”
By now you may have seen this video from Sunday’s Chargers/Jets playoff game in San Diego, in which a Jets fan is taken down by police and arrested, seemingly just for cheering on his favorite team:
Now, we don’t get to see exactly what happens right before the cops get there, but it doesn’t seem like he did anything to warrant getting tackled like that. Hell, even the Chargers fans sitting in the area are defending the guy!
I was waiting for some more of the actual story to come out before posting this clip, and in today’s NY Post, the Jets fan in the video, Bill Carroll, finally speaks up.
Blubbering Giants Fan gets his web redemption
You may be familiar with this YouTube clip from this past January, which features a distraught Giants fan crying like a baby after his team lost to the Eagles in the playoffs. It’s pretty much your classic web fail. I mean, I’ve been upset about a loss before … but, WOW … this guy took it to a whole other level.
Ever since that video first hit the interwebs, its star, Rob, has been mercilessly ridiculed around the world for … well, for being such a huge pussy. His handle was even discovered on the famed Giants message board Big Blue Interactive, where he has since been dubbed “Flounder”, and has become the site’s whipping boy.
Well, thanks to the awesome Comedy Central program Tosh.0, Rob has finally gotten his web redemption. Funny stuff:

Kudos to Rob for manning up and handling this all with a sense of humor. And of course for choosing to f*ck Lawrence Taylor. If you’re interested, you can check out the outtakes from the Tosh.0 interview, along with this thread from BBI where Rob talks about the clip.
