This video has been around for about a month now, but it felt especially appropriate in light of tomorrow’s Giants-49ers NFC Championship showdown. Giants all-pro DE Jason Pierre-Paul – better known among Giants fans as “J.P.P” – already has his own tribute video, logically set to the tune of New Jersey natives Naughty By Nature’s “O.P.P”.

In just his second season, Pierre-Paul racked up 16-1/2 regular season sacks, and has become a defensive terror who must be accounted for on every play by opposing offenses. His freakish wingspan allows him to disrupt passes (and FG attempts), and even when he’s not sacking the QB, the double-teams he draws free up his teammates to make plays. And on Sunday, JPP will undoubtedly put Alex Smith to the test and be a huge factor in the outcome of the game.

The video comes to us from Mr. Josh Hyman, and although he might not have the best flow on the planet, compared to most of the awful fan-created songs out there, it’s a relative masterpiece:

With Jim Schwartz (“a madman who can barely stay on the sidelines”) and Ndamukong Suh (“wanted for murder in 11 states”) leading the charge, the Lions and their fans have discovered a brand new swagger … one that just may transcend winning and losing:

To be honest, I’m not sure that highlighting murders in Detroit is going to have the desired effect of boosting tourism in the state … ya know, since they’ve had a bit of a problem with that, and all.

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen a slew of parodies of the hot new sports film, Moneyball take over the interwebs. Most of them have been relatively lame, but SNL had the best effort to date with TinyBalls, shifting the story to baseball’s steroids era with a Victor Conte-esque main character.

But the folks at Funny or Die have finally brought things into the realm of football with Millenball, which takes a swipe at the worst general manager in the history of the NFL, Matt Millen of the Detroit Lions. And now that the Lions (at 5-0) have finally started to move past this dark period in the franchise’s history, we can all share a laugh at just how comically bad Millen was at judging talent, drafting players, selecting coaches and everything else he sucked royally at during his tenure.

In the mean time, making fun of Favre will be our modus operandi around these parts. Let’s face it, you’ll be getting more than your share of genuine Favre hysterics/worship elsewhere over the next 6 months. And fortunately for us, someone went out and made this parody of the famous LeBron James “What Should I Do?” Nike commercial, featuring a pretty good Favre doppelganger. It covers all the basics, from dong shots to the retirement fake-outs, along with this mantra from the ole gunslinger: ”completions are way more awesome when you force ‘em through triple coverage! Remember that!”.

This week, Rouhier turns nostalgic about the ‘Skins, drawing parallels between the up & down history of the club and that of an 80′s rock band. And once again, he delivers a gem with Redskins Week 10: Behind the Music:

Wait, who didn’t love Roxette in the early ’90s?!?

If it seems like we’re piling on the Redskins this week, it’s not intentional … there’s just always a bounty of great content whenever a team implodes on national television the way they did.

So I guess that puts and end to that whole saga. [/sarcasm]

Well, it came a little late, but the occasionally funny gang at Saturday Night Live finally leveled their trademark rapier wit on the Brett Favre controversy last night with this ad parody for Wrangler Open Fly Jeans. And it’s actually not bad. Jason Sudeikis does a decent Favre impression, but be sure to watch the reactions of his teammates.

Earlier this year, the Chiefs posted this parody of The Office to their home page, and as much as I was expecting to hate it, it’s actually pretty funny … plus, the Pam is super-cute:

This week, with the Chiefs riding low at 1-7, the front office has sent Larry Johnson packing, and set their comedic sights on 30 Rock.  Seems like a perfect plan to get things turned around! They’ve gone so far as to post the video as the first thing anyone sees when they visit the Chiefs’ home page.  And while it’s not quite as good as The Office, it’s still pretty well done.
