Tom Brady encourages Pats fans to “get lubed up” before Sunday’s game

(photo: NYDailyNews)

From the “we couldn’t make this up if we tried” department, Mr. Perfect Tom Brady is getting a lot of flack today after encouraging Patriots fans to get drunk and loud for this Sunday’s Patriots-Chargers game. Brady was asked on Wednesday if he had a message for fans attending what some are calling an early preview of the AFC Championship game:

“Yeah, start drinking early,” Brady said with a snicker. “Get nice and rowdy. It’s a 4:15 game, a lot of time to get lubed up. Come out here, and cheer for the home team.”

The Patriots PR team almost immediately attempted to clarify Brady’s statement, claiming that “He meant ‘stay hydrated, drink a lot of water’”, which approximately zero people believe.

Clearly, alcohol is the fuel that NFL fans run on, and the majority of people planning to tailgate in Foxborough on Sunday weren’t going to do so in a sober fashion. But with the recent trend in fan-on-fan violence, this probably isn’t the best message to be sending to fans who haven’t exactly displayed a penchant for drinking responsibly, and enjoy starting fights with opposing fans.

So when a Chargers fan ends up getting shivved in the bathroom at Gillette Stadium by some hammered Pats fan because he’s wearing the wrong jersey, get ready for people to point the finger at Brady.

Bill Murray is a huge Bears fan, thinks Ray Nitschke is a pussy

This is just fantastic. From the guys over at BlackBook comes this tremendous first-person account of one Green Bay Packers fan’s experience at last weekend’s NFC Championship game.

Apparently, while braving the Soldier Field crowd to root on his beloved Packers, this gentleman had an encounter with none other than diehard Bears fan and comic legend Bill Murray, who was seated right behind him. And even though Green Bay won the game, ole’ Bill wasn’t going to let this interloper intrude on the Bears’ home turf without at least giving him a little bit of the business.

"This picture is of him laughing in my face" (Photo: BlackbookMag.com)

From the source himself:

My friend Matt Katrosar flew to Chicago last weekend to hang out with some of his Windy City pals and attend the Bears/Packers NFL playoff game. He was wearing a Green Bay jersey (in support of old-school Packers legend Ray Nitschke) amid a sea of Chicago blue. During the 2nd quarter, Matt celebrated a considerably good play on the part of Green Bay with the usual hootin’ and hollerin’ reserved for such moments. That’s when he was blatantly shoved from behind. Turning to catch a glimpse of his assailant, he discovered his pusher was none other than Bill Murray, a huge Chicago Bears fan, who was unapologetically enjoying the moment.

Matt’s friend managed to capture a photo of Murray in mid-celebration, laughing at the rival fans. Naturally, Matt wanted a picture with the legendary actor. Murray’s response to his request? “Nitschke is a pussy.” So much for “No one will ever believe you.”

LOVE IT. And Bill Murray wins again.

VIDEO: Lap Dance at Cowboys Game far more interesting than game itself

(Image via Deadspin)

This video of an unidentified super-cutie giving her boyfriend a lap dance at last Sunday’s Cowboys/Jags game has been making the rounds for the past few days … and who are we to buck the trend?!?

The clip starts off with the drunken couple making out at Cowboys Stadium and quickly progresses until the young lady starts to give everyone in her section a show. But sadly, security breaks it up as soon before we get to see anything good things get too out of hand.

And clearly, if you’re a fan of the 1-6 Cowboys suffering through the season, this sort of thing is WAY more interesting than following the action on the field:

Jets fan arrested for chanting “JETS JETS JETS”

By now you may have seen this video from Sunday’s Chargers/Jets playoff game in San Diego, in which a Jets fan is taken down by police and arrested, seemingly just for cheering on his favorite team:

Now, we don’t get to see exactly what happens right before the cops get there, but it doesn’t seem like he did anything to warrant getting tackled like that. Hell, even the Chargers fans sitting in the area are defending the guy!

I was waiting for some more of the actual story to come out before posting this clip, and in today’s NY Post, the Jets fan in the video, Bill Carroll, finally speaks up.
