CBS feature on Chris Henry’s legacy will make you cry (VIDEO)
This really is the perfect piece for Thanksgiving. On CBS Sports’ pre-game coverage this morning, they told the story of four people whose lives were saved when Chris Henry’s mother made the decision to donate her son’s organs following the car accident that took the troubled Bengals WR’s life in December of 2009. It really puts things into perspective, and helps us all realize how much we have to be thankful for on this day.
Here is the full video. If you don’t at least get goosebumps or tear up a little after watching this (like NFL Today‘s James Brown did on live TV), you should probably get yourself checked out to make sure you still have a pulse.

RIP Chris Henry, 1983-2009
Super-sad news this morning, as Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry has passed away from injuries sustained yesterday when he fell from the back of a moving pick-up truck during what is being described as a “domestic dispute”. The details are murky at this point, but Henry apparently jumped into the bed of the truck as his fiancee – Loleini Tonga – drove away from their home following an argument. Henry was thrown from the vehicle a half-mile away. He was 26 years old.
Henry has a well-documented history of problems with the law, but by all accounts he seemed to be on the road to redemption after the Bengals gave him another chance in 2009:
“We knew him in a different way than his public persona,” Bengals owner Mike Brown said of the player who was suspended five times during his career. “He had worked through the troubles in his life and had finally seemingly reached the point where everything was going to blossom. And he was going to have the future we all wanted for him. It’s painful to us. We feel it in our hearts, and we will miss him.”
Here’s a recent video of Henry discussing the fresh start he was attempting to make with his life, and specifically with his family:
Sad, sad indeed.
HBO’s “Hard Knocks” Series to feature Bengals

ProFootballTalk.com is reporting (via the Cincinnati Enquirer) that HBO will make the Cincinnati Bengals the subjects of their annual NFL Training Camp reality series, Hard Knocks.
HBO is clearly taking the Real World approach to reality TV, by choosing one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league to create the most potential on-screen drama. Between Chris Henry, Tank Johnson and Ocho-Cinco, there should be more than enough stupidity to keep viewers entertained for at least 20 minutes. Next year we get the Raiders so we can watch Al Davis change his colostomy bag.
To give you an idea of what you can expect, here’s a quick 4-minute recap of last year’s season premiere of Hard Knocks with the Dallas Cowboys (expect a lot more shooting/arrests in the Bengals season):
