Holy crap! At age 48, Herschel Walker looks like this (PIC)
By ArtieFufkin
In case you’ve been asking yourself, “hey, what’s Herschel Walker up to these days?”, wonder no more.
The former Georgia, USFL & NFL great has been training for his second professional MMA fight, which is set to take place on January 29th against Scott Carson. And if there was any question as to whether or not Walker was taking his training seriously, this picture of the 48-year-old Walker at the gym yesterday should silence the doubters:
Jebus. I don’t envy this Carson guy for having to go into the cage against that. The former Heisman trophy winner has long been infamous for his insane workout regimens, which have obviously translated over to his new career. I mean, just look at the guy, and then remind yourself that he’s FORTY-EIGHT YEARS OLD!
Walker first made his pro MMA debut with Strikeforce in January of 2010, winning his first fight against an unknown named Greg Nagy with ease. Admittedly, I don’t follow the sport, but apparently Carson is a more established fighter with a 4-1 record, and should give a better indication of Walker’s MMA ability. By all accounts, it seems that Walker is very serious about earning his stripes with this fight, and becoming a long-term part of the mixed martial arts world. But he’s not delusional enough to think he can keep fighting guys 25-years his junior … there are rumors abound that this may be his last fight, and that Herschel would like to become a spokesman for the sport after he hangs up the gloves.

[...] Herschel Walker is 48. Hershel Walker is a freak of nature… [...]
I don’t know how well 2 MMA bouts qualify Walker to be an ambassador for the sport, but I guess there’s something to be said for retiring undefeated (assuming Herschel wins).
He would never pass a steroids test. Shows only that good drugs can make you look good. He is a disgrace.
@Matt Clearly you’ve never lifted a weight in your life.
@Matt, clearly you are jealous.
“He would never pass a steroids test. Shows only that good drugs can make you look good. He is a disgrace.”
LOL! You’re the disgrace idiot. Herschel Walker isn’t taking steroids at 48 years of age. He’s just a physical freak. Besides, he’d look like Lou Ferrigno if he was taking steroids. He be far bigger and even more ripped.
@ Matt…You fool. Have you ever seen a picture of Herschel at 21? 30? Or even 40? He has always been physical freak. Have you not followed anything about him? This guy has arguably more dedication to training than 95% or the people in currently in MMA. Been this way his entire life.
It’d be funny to see him and a shirtless Bo Jackson these days side by side. Scary.
He does look amzing- i met him at the Fedoe fight this past summer!! Great shape!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/george_wells_74/5380000482/in/photostream/
I don’t even know if HW even does weights. His regimen during the 80′s was all variations of pushups and situps.
Mark you have it absolutely correct. The doubters don’t seem to realize that Herschel just looks the same as he as always looked. With most steroid users you can find an old photo somewhere of them with a drastically different body. I’ve been looking at photos of Herschel since Freshman year at UGA 30 years ago and have seen him in person on several occasions. I challenge the guys that think that he is using steroids to find a photo where he does not look like he does now. This is not a new body for Herschel. This is a maintained body. Thirty years ago nobody had ever heard of steroids and I seriously doubt the Walker family would have had extra money laying around to buy illegal performance drugs even if they had heard of them in their small country town of Wrightsville, GA.
natural born killer
Steroids? No way, the man participated in several winter olympic games in the 90′s after his football career ended. The test the hel out of you. As a child he would do situps whenever he watched TV. He would do thousands a day. Some peopel just have good genes. Combine that with the kind of crazy workout he is doing now and you see the results. Sorry Matt. He is the real deal.
[...] week, we discovered this photo of former NFL great Herschel Walker at age 48, in training for his second professional MMA fight [...]
Matt,
You like most non-athletes are an idiot. I am 56, weigh 240 and compete in bodybuilding…Drugs or not you still work your ass off, which is something you obviously have never done….Strength of mind, strength of will…..you missed the boat Brother.
James,
Passion is what qualifies anyone to be a spokesperson.
Your all retarded. He takes roids and lifts weights. The guy is a liar.
