And so it begins … Tim Tebow rallies Broncos past Texans (VIDEO)
By ArtieFufkin
The Tim Tebow hype machine came to a head today in Denver, where the rookie QB finally got a chance to start under center in front of a home crowd against the Texans. And the Broncos’ first round draft pick didn’t disappoint, leading his team to a 24-23 comeback victory over Houston to get his first career NFL win.
Tebow displayed his signature leadership skills along with his less-heralded throwing arm in finishing with 308 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT passing and bringing the Broncos back from a 17-point halftime deficit. Tebow unleashed a beautiful 50-yard bomb to Jabar Gafney and also added 27 yards rushing, none bigger than this impressive 6-yard touchdown run to give Denver the lead with just over three minutes to go:

After becoming the league’s top-selling jersey before ever seeing the field in the NFL, it’s nice to finally see the kid get a chance and deliver in the clutch. And no matter who you root for, you can’t help but appreciate the way Tebow plays the game, and most of all his competitive spirit and will to win. Even the Texans’ head coach couldn’t help but be impressed with the Broncos’ rookie after the loss:
“He is exactly what you thought coming out of college,” said Gary Kubiak, the Houston head coach and former Broncos offensive coordinator. “He is a winner. He will find a way to make a play. He will find a way to move the chains. He found a way to win a game today and that is what this league is about.” [Denver Post]
Say what you want about Tebow, but Kubiak is right. And you better believe that Denver fans will be anointing Tebow as the coming of the next John Elway this week.
