THE 2010 NFL DRAFT 1ST-ROUND LIVE BLOG

By TheDarkHorse

The hour is now. The future of the league is being shaped this evening as the 2010 NFL Draft gets underway in New York, New York. (Source: AP)

If you’re an NFL fan… today is Christmas Day.

Beginning with the Rams first-round selection at 7:32 p.m. EST, we’ll be following the entire first round, pick by pick.

READ AND REACT IS IN THE HOUSE. ArtieFufkin will track ESPN’s coverage of the event. TheDarkHorse will follow the draft on the NFL Network. (We may even see cameos from steverodgers and C-O-U-R-T-N-E-Y!)

We’ll be trash talking, assessing the action, and also taking a look at tomorrow’s 2nd and 3rd rounds–where, in a deep draft like this one, there will be tremendous competition between the teams to get “their guys.”

There’s a sense around the league that this could be a wild night–we’ll be commenting on the action as it happens, and look forward to chatting with you. Click the comments section to join in the action.

I agree with you. But they really need OL. That said, this is Al Davis. He might take a WR we’ve never heard of.

I think it proves the point that after the first 10 or so players — the draft boards of teams will vary WIDELY, and we’ll be stunned tonight, based only b/c of the media boards we’ve seen. The guys, so far, who even succeed in the NFL, may stun us… so many of these big names will bust. We just gotta’ sit back now…

Dan Williams, Derrick Morgan, Jason Pierre-Paul all available … I think the value on Morgan is there for the Giants, but it’s obviously not a huge position of need. Williams could be the pick.

    Trade down.

It’s clearly a BPA pick according to the Giants board. And you’re right, he could end up being great, but I just don’t get it with so many other holes to fill.

Does this mean Osi could be trade bait now?

I think the writing may be on the wall for Osi. I hate when a draft pick simply fills the space of a lost player… they can keep both for a year, but you may be right. Schefter just said the same. I think you’ve got a special player (potentially).
