Tiki Barber continues to make great decisions
By ArtieFufkin
Former New York Giant RB Tiki Barber has left his wife - who is 8 months pregnant … with twins – for a 23-year-old former NBC intern named Traci Lynn Johnson. Barber already has 2 sons (A.J., 7, and Chason, 6) with his wife Ginny, but moved out of their Manhattan home late last year to pursue his new flame.
According to various reports, Barber and Johnson have been sleeping together since at least 2008, and have increasingly been seen together in public in recent weeks/months. On Wednesday the Giants’ all-time leading rusher released this sterile statement:
“After 11 years of marriage, Ginny and I have decided to separate,” Barber said. “This decision was a painful one, but we are moving forward amicably and will continue to work together to raise our children with the love and dedication they have always known.”
Uh-huh.
Let’s face it, Barber has made a string of questionable decisions in the past few years. He retired from the NFL at the top of his game in 2006, just before the Giants went on to win SB XLII. Even worse, he did did so to become a correspondent for the Today Show, which has been a train wreck on just about every level. And in an effort to gain points as an analyst, Barber threw his former teammates and coaches under the bus, which has alienated him from even his biggest supporters within the Giants organization.
But this might be the most despicable move of them all. While Traci may be a physical upgrade over Ginny, that’s no excuse to abandon his wife and family a month before she gives birth. To TWINS! One needs to look no further than Barber’s own words to understand the full extent of his hypocrisy. From the NY Post:
In his 2007 memoir, “Tiki: My Life in the Game and Beyond,” Barber described the example he wanted to set for his kids.
“I want to be an honorable man, because that’s what I want them both to be,” he wrote, noting, “My family is everything to me.”
Honorable, huh Tiki? How’s that working out for you?
