Readers React: Vikings/Packers Vitriol reaching a boiling point

By ArtieFufkin

In the first of what hopefully will become a regular installment here at RnR, we present you with “Readers React” – where finally, at long last, your voice can be heard on the world wide webs!!! (well, I mean, that is if you’re too lazy or computer illiterate to start your own blog.  Or Facebook page.  But I digress … )

This week’s reaction comes to us from Crabbman, speaking on behalf of Vikings nation as they head into the much anticipated Favre Bowl tonight in Minnesota. This game transcends the normally fierce NFC North rivalry, effecting both sides on a very personal level.  And clearly, the build up is starting to get to some people.

And with that, Crabbman, the Readers React forum is yours:

Is there a game tonight?

The Minnesota sports teams are conspiring to either kill me or end my marriage. I have too much hate right now to write a post. I might have to leave work before I punch someone wearing a Packer jersey in the face. Someone had the brilliant idea of having a potluck today with everyone wearing their team colors. I think wearing a cheesehead to work is not only a fireable offense, but if I strangled said person, no Minnesota judge would convict me.

God help me.

Thanks Crabbman!

Got something you want to say?  Think you can bring something relevant, informative, funny, insightful or just plain random to the table?  Well, big shot, now’s your chance.  Email us at info@readandreact.net, and if you’ve at least got the brain power of a monkey, we’ll probably post it.  I mean, have you read this blog?  It’s not like we’ve set the bar very high.

I’ll come out and say it now: I think Favre is going to get injured tonight.

I have no idea how or when it will happen, nor am I wishing this upon him … I just happen to think that Favre has taunted the football gods one too many times in the past few years, and it’s going to come back and bite him.

And if it doesn’t happen tonight, God may just be saving that little treat for the Packer faithful when the Vikings visit Lambeau later this season.

Favre is actually claiming that tonight’s game is not about revenge. Does this man have a shred of credibility at this point?

When do we get revenge for that television commercial airing now featuring him waffling on whether to buy a TV? He is no Peyton Manning as pitchman.
