Report: Clay matthews III and Brian Cushing test positive for steroids

By TheDarkHorse

NOTE: BOTH PLAYERS ARE REFUTING THESE CLAIMS… more to come…

This has not been a good day for top-billed, draft-eligible defenders.

Clay Matthews III is (otherwise) a great story. Guy walked on at USC as the son of NFL great Clay Matthews, Jr., perhaps the best linebacker in Cleveland Browns history. The Browns, in fact, just brought CMIII in for a workout.

This is a disappointment. Does a team still invest a 1st round pick?

PS – Did they think they wouldn’t get caught?

PSS – Look at these two guys (below)… then scroll down and stare at the overly serious, melancholy expressions on Orton and Cutler’s faces. ARE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE HAPPY ABOUT ANYTHING?

PSSS – Does USC have a barber? I know, I know… these are L.A.-BASED YOUTH (super cooler than ALL PEOPLE ALIVE), but they look like a hair band. Cushing appears deeply unlikeable and an irritatant, like he can’t be bothered to be in a football uniform. Anyway, if they don’t get off the drugs, they’ll be working at CVS and Rite Aid, respectively.

Yikes. That should shake up the draft a bit!

Both of those guys were expected to be taken toward the top half of the first round, and now I can see them both taking a nosedive. The other USC LB – Rey Maualuga is expected to be a 1st-rounder too … the clear & the cream are obviously part of the regimen over at USC. But pretending this didn’t happen everywhere would be naive – these guys are super-talented, and if you pass on one of them in the draft, I feel like you’ll be regretting it a couple years from now.

PS – I think that picture of Clay Matthews III is majestic. Carrying the torch of the great white Linebacker – CMIII is our last hope.
